Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Heb 13: 8
I woke up with these sweet words in my mouth today. “Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.”
And at soon as I said the words another thought hit me. It is Tuesday and I have a lot to do.
My day is planned from this very second until ten at night.
No time…even to write this devotional. Have you ever had one of these days? As soon as your eyes open in the morning you already know.
Your To-Do-List presents itself one by one to you.
- I need to be at the prayer meeting tonight at 7.
- I need to bring a dish,
- Today my daughter has to go to the dentist
- My son has a soccer game
- The lunch…
- The dinner…
- The house….
- My job…
And then your mind goes to tomorrow.
- It is the wedding day of …,
- I have to clean the house,
- The handyman comes….
- The car…
- The rent is due…the mortgage…
Do you feel it? Your heart rate must be up by now. So many things that have to be done. So many details.
I want to tell you…Jesus is here. He knows what today needs and he is here. What a comfort to realize Jesus is here with me, with you, today! He is here.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
Even though, Jesus is timeless and eternal, he is right here with us right now. Jesus will respond to our needs and prayers today. What a comfort for us.
He knows what tomorrow needs.
And Jesus is the same as yesterday.
Jesus doesn’t change.
If you have learned to trust in Jesus, if you have seen Him move on your behalf in the past…remember He is the SAME. Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, The Day After Tomorrow, Next Week and Forever! That is the Lord we serve.
Be comforted my beloved. Jesus is right here at this moment with us. Let’s bring our needs and prayers.
